Kunle studied business administration in the university. He hoped that immediately after his graduation, he would have a white collar job.

However, 6 months after concluding his NYSC, he was still moving around searching for job. He went to an industry located near his house, the only vacancy was for part-time work in the factory.

Every day, he goes there early in the morning so as to be chosen to work. Even the days that there was no work in the factory, he stays behind and run errands for the employee most of who does not even have WAEC certificate. As he was doing that, he was telling them to help and connect him to the management staff.

When the branch of the industry was established in another city, the chairman of the company called the employees and informed them. He also told them that new staffs were needed for employment. He told them that any employee, who was a University graduate that was interested to work in the new branch should meet him for a discussion.

After the meeting some of the junior staffs were discussing about what chairman told them.

“This is a golden opportunity, I wished that I am learned,” Ayo said.

“My brother I am thinking of quiting this job and going back to school,” Lekan added.

“I just remembered Kunle now. I think we should connect him to Chairman. You know that he is a graduate,” Taiwo suggested.

“Taiwo I don’t like how you thinks. Do you want that small boy to become our boss,” Ayo asked him.

“Don’t mind him. This is a boy that run errands for us . By the time he becomes fully employed and go to the new branch, who will run errands for us?” Lekan asked.

Taiwo did not talk to them again because he had already made up his mind on what to do. He informed Kunle of what happened in the meeting and later took Kunle to the chairman. After explaining, that Kunle was a part-time worker in the company, Taiwo told the Chairman that Kunle run errands and carries out maintenance work regularly, which he was not paid for.

The chairman excused Taiwo and started discussing with Kunle. He was amazed at his level of intelligence.

Kunle was sent on a 6 months training abroad and he became a top management staff. He never forgot that everything he got was through Taiwo’s recommendation.

When the head of Taiwo’s department was transfered to another branch of the company, Taiwo was promoted to occupy that position. He knew that he does not deserve it, so he went to thank the chairman. That was when the chairman informed him that Kunle was the person he needed to thank.

Taiwo ran to meet Kunle and was appreciating him but Kunle told him that he deserved even more than what he got.

“You don’t need to thank me. You deserve what you got and even much more. Remember some years back when you took me to the Chairman and begged him to employ me. Because of that single show of love, my status changed. Anyone that has the spirit of helping others will always get help when he needs it.”

When Ayo heard of what happened, he became angry that Kunle helped Taiwo instead of him. He reminded Kunle that they were from the same village.

“You did not remember that we were from the same village when Chairman needed graduates for employment. I begged you severally to help me talk to the Human Resource Manager but you never did. You forgot that we rise by lifting others. When ever it is time for general promotion, I will ensure that no one victimizes you. But for special consideration, you don’t deserve it,” Kunle told him.
