Itohan had just landed herself in a big mess. She cried all day and there was no one to console her. Even though her relationship with Uloma had been strained, she needed her like never before.

She made up her mind to apologize to Uloma and open up to her concerning what she was going through.

However, when she got home, she didn’t see Uloma. She however concluded that she might have gone to church.
She heard a knock on the door, when she opened, she discovered that it was Zina.

“Zina what are you doing here by this time? This is 10pm,” I T asked mirthlessly

“I came to check on you. I felt you might still be crying,” She paused on her speech and looked at Itohan’s face.

“Have you seen it. Your eyes are red? You are still crying?”

“What else would I do. Please allow me to cry. That’s the only thing left for me.”

“It’s is fine. Everything will work out well. Crying will not solve this problem but strategic thinking will do it.” Zina tried to encourage her.

“Zina, you don’t understand .”

“I understand everything, including the fact that you are fretting over nothing. ”

“Ha! Uloma warned me o,”I.T lamented.

“Please don’t mention the name of that witch here. Anyway, I have taken care of her.”

“Zina I can take anything, but the one that I can’t take is calling Uloma a witch. Please don’t repeat it again,” Itohan warned.

“What else do you call an enemy of progress?” Zina retorted in anger.

“She is not an enemy of progress. She only wanted the best for me. I wish that I listened to her. I will not be where I am now. But what do you mean by ‘ you have taken care of her’?”

“I got tired of the nuisance that she was constituting. I had to send some boys to warn her to maintain her lane. I trust that they will also give her some beatings. They have been monitoring her movements for over a week,” Zina lamented.

“It’s a lie. You did what? No wonder I have not seen Uloma till now. Zina what have you done?” Itohan cried.

“I didn’t do anything to her. I didn’t tell them to harm her, it’s just to warn her.”

“What are they warning her for? Please explain to me; I need to know.”

“I.T, I don’t like the way you are taking this. Did I do wrong by helping you?”

“What kind of help did you render to me? Did I come to you for help? Just pray that nothing happens to Uloma. If she has a scratch on her body, you will have me to contend with,” Itohan vowed.

“Itohan, is this how you want to repay me for everything I did for you?”

“What exactly did you do for me? You are a bad friend. See where your advice and push has landed me to.”

“Who was leading you? When you were receiving car and wearing expensive clothes and jewelries, did you share it with me. You are just an over grown baby. Listen nothing has spoilt. What has happened is a stepping stone to your progress. You either take it or stay here and continue wailing. ”

“Zina, where is Uloma?”

“What kind of stupid question is that. I’m I Uloma’s keeper?”

“So, I’m the one that is asking stupid questions, now get out of my house?” I.T thundered.

“I.T you are asking me to leave your house?” Zina asked in disbelief.

“Yes but know this. You have not heard the last statement from me. Just pray that no evil befalls Uloma.”

“I.T why are you doing this? remember that we are friends.”

“God forbid. I will never be a friend to a wicked soul, a deceiver. ”

“It’s alright. But please, I want you to know that I never planned evil against Uloma,” Zina pleaded

“You never planned evil. Yet, she is not home yet. Since I started living with Uloma, she has never slept out. Unless when she visited her parents. Check your time; this is 11:30pm. Yet Uloma is not yet back.You are a witness that I have dialled her phone number severally, but it is switched off” I.T broke down in tears.

Zina tried to call the leader of the gang she sent to attack Uloma but his phone was not reachable. Sudden fear gripped her. She started seeking for ways to free herself.

“I didn’t send anyone to attack Uloma. I just said it because I thought that it would make you happy. Don’t worry yourself, she will be back,”

“Are you sure?” I.T suddenly lifted her face and asked.

“I am very sure. Why would I do that? Remember that this thing does not even concern me directly. I love Uloma too. I was only angry with her for not allowing you to take the right decision”

I.T pretended that she believed what Zina said. She however decided to record their conversation in order to have evidence.

“Zina, it’s okay. When you told me that you sent some gangs to attack Uloma and even said that they have been monitoring her I was wondering. I know that you cannot do such a thing.”

“My sister, I was playing. When I entered, and discovered that you are crying, I decided to cheer you up. That was the idea that came to my head. I had to tell you that I sent some men to attack Uloma ”

I.T nodded in Satisfaction. She had gotten an evidence to prove that Zina said that she sent some men to attack Uloma.

“Please, I have to sleep here. It’s already late,”Zina pleaded.

“There is no problem please feel free, ” I.T told her with fake smiles.

That same night, Mrs. Paul contacted a senior police officer and narrated everything that happened. Arrangement was made to get Itohan arrested the next morning.
She didn’t allow Uloma to know her plans because she know that Uloma would not allow her to do that. She only casually confirmed Uloma’s address.

As early as 6am, 2 Police men on night duty stormed Itohan’s residence. They told her that she was needed in the police station to say what she knows concerning the disappearance of Uloma.

Zina quickly told the policemen that she was a visitor. But Itohan explained that I.T was the culprit. They took the two of them away.
