Olaedo was my childhood friend. We attended same primary and secondary school. She was so beautiful and soft spoken that everyone loved and admired her. It made me to be jealous of her.

Immediately after we graduated from secondary school, men were rushing to ask for her hand in marriage. Nobody was looking my way. It was as if I never existed. She finally decided to marry Mr. Smith. I did all within my power to divert Mr. Smith’s attention from Olaedo but they glued to each other. Later, they got married.

Few months after they got married, I decided to pay Olaedo a visit. When I got to her house. I discovered that her husband was not around.

“Ola, what of your husband?”

“My husband went to work.”

“But today is Saturday and it’s already 4:00pm. When is he coming back?”

“He might not come back till 8:00pm.”

“Hmm! you have to open your eyes o.”
Olaedo kept quiet and seem to be lost in thought.

“Ola why are you keeping quiet? What is the matter?” I inquired.

“My dear, all is not well. I have this feeling, that my husband is cheating on me.”

“Are you sure?”

“I’m not really sure. It’s just that I am suspecting him. He always come back late. Though he told me that he closes late from work. I tried to believe him. But the way you are sounding now.”

“Olaedo open your eyes. Men are not to be trusted. With what you have just said, it is obvious that your husband is cheating on you. How can he be coming home late every day from work, when he has a pregnant wife at home?”

“That is my challenge. See my condition,” Olaedo lamented.

“Let me tell you. Men don’t respect women that are soft. If you don’t fight for your right, Smith will marry another wife.”

“God forbid. It is not my portion,” Olaedo declared.

“Faith without work is dead. Fight for your right. That is the only advice I have for you.”

“What exactly should I do?”

“What your husband is doing was what my uncle did to his wife. He continued like that till one day, the wife got angry. He locked him outside and told him to go back to where he was coming from. My uncle could not believe what happened. That was how my uncle changed.”

“Are you serious?”

“Yes. Today, both of them are happy together. No man should try that rubbish with me. I will deal with that man. I swear.”

“Linda look at me. Why would my husband cheat on me? I’m I not beautiful?”

“My sister, don’t mind men. They are useless. It’s just very few that are responsible. Your husband is among the useless ones.”

“Linda how can you say my husband is useless. It has not gotten to that.”

“I know that he is your husband but I have to tell you the truth. You were angry that I have not been visiting you. My dear, it is because of your husband. He had the gut to send a text message to me, telling me that he love me. He said that he made a mistake by marrying you. Wait, let me show you the message..”
I brought out a message I sent with a new sim I bought. I saved the number with Mr. Smith.

“Have you seen it. Is this not your husband’s name? okay, read the message,”

I didn’t know that olaedo was trying to check the number that sent the message.

“But this is not my husband’s phone number,” She informed me.

“But he has been using this phone number to call me even before your wedding. Does it mean you don’t have this number.”

“No, I don’t have it,”

“Then, you don’t have a husband. My sister, you are not married.”

“Please call that phone number for me, I need to save it.”

Olaedo, do you want to put me in trouble. You want them to say that I broke your marriage.Whatever I told you here, I did it because you are my friend. Keep it to yourself and fight for your marriage. The evidence I gave you will help you to know how to channel your fight. As for the phone number, you don’t need it.”

“Linda I am heartbroken. I never knew that my husband’s case is as worst as this. What am I going to do?”

“Let me tell you the truth, your husband is a chronic womanizer. His case is not an easy one. But you can still conquer.”

“How?” Olaedo cried out.

“Is he not your husband? Demand that he tells you the truth. If it’s getting late and he is not yet back, lock your door and sleep. Then, I will help you to find out who the side chick is.”

“Thank you so much. What would I have done without you?”

“You don’t have to thank me. After all we are friends.”
She left me to ease herself and left her phone behind. I quickly picked the phone and send a message to my phone. ” Linda, I’m in a mess . I am pregnant but not for my husband. I am thinking of running away with my lover. But I have to end Smith first.”
After sending it to my phone I quickly deleted it from her phone. Then I sent a reply to her phone.

“What do you mean by ending Smith? Don’t do anything stupid. If you are not careful, I will report you to your husband. I don’t support evil.”

Afterwards, I deleted it too from her phone.
I was so happy because I have gotten all the weapons I needed to snatch Smith from her.
When I was set to go, she brought out a huge sum of money and gave to me .

“Olaedo you are a darling. thank you so much.”

“My dear just manage it. Money is not a problem for me. My husband is taking good care of me. My problem is just that he is promiscuous,”

“Don’t worry, we will handle it . Smith is yours forever,” I promised her.

When I left, Ola took to my advice and started misbehaving. She kept embarrassing her husband and accusing him of sleeping around. Mr. Smith was a gentle man then. He has not joined this cult that turned him to a devil.

One of the days, he locked her husband out. Afterwards she called me on phone and informed of what she did. I told her that she did well. Afterwards, I left my house and came out in search of Mr. Smith.
