Bob was in Sunday service when pastor invited new members to come to the altar for prayer. As they marched out, Bob could not believe who he saw.

“Is this not Rosy,” he asked himself.

He decided not to bother about her. Immediately after service, as he was about entering into his car he heard a voice.

“Bob hello”

He turned and it was Rosy

“Hello Rosy ” He replied and zoomed off in his car.

As he was relaxing in his house, he received a phone call from pastor, requesting him to come to church immediately.

“I hope this foolish girl have not gone to report me to pastor ” he thought.

He entered pastor’s office and saw Rosy sited there. He greeted pastor and sat too.

“Bob I’m sorry for the stress. Do you know this lady?”

“Yes sir. She was my lover on campus,” Bob explained.

“Okay. She came to meet me and explained that she want to apologize to you. She told me that she offended you,” Pastor told Bob.

“Daddy she never offended me. 20 children can never play together for 20 years. She actually helped me to run away from sin. I will forever remain grateful to her. When I became sick, I was heartbroken and needed a comforter. I called her on phone and explained to her about my condition. Though, I didn’t tell her what caused my challenge. I told her that the only thing I needed from her was that she should be calling on phone to speak with me. She replied that it would not be a problem as long as I continued sending money to her. I was shocked . This was a lady I bought car for while in school.”

“You did what?” Pastor asked in shock.

“Yes, I bought a car for her . Money was never a problem. When she told me that I have to be sending money to her, I thought that she was joking. But after a week she never cared to know how I was doing. One of the days I was in serious pain, I called her phone again . In fact, I was crying.

She told me to say whatever I had to say quickly because she was busy. I told her that I was in pain. She asked me whether she looked like a baby sitter or a nurse.”

“What did you say she was to you?” Pastor asked again.

“She was my lover,” Bob answered.

“And you bought car for her?”

“Yes sir.”

“All those period, did she not claim that she loved you?” Pastor asked.

“She did sir. In fact she told me that if I leave her, she would die?”

“Really” pastor smiled ” Can you now see that there is no true love outside Christ?”

“That is the truth sir”

“Please continue what you were saying.”

“She didn’t care to check on me even for a day. After a while, I couldn’t reach her again. I believed she blocked my line from reaching her. As I was weeping because of her, Nnenna asked me what the matter was. I told her everything. Nnenna told me that in that condition, the only person I need was a sister.

She told me to see her as my sister and call her anytime I needed someone to talk to. That was how we became friends. As years went by, I forgot about Rosy.”

“It’s okay. She is here to apologize to you. What do you have to say,” Pastor asked.

“Her apology is accepted,” Bob answered.

“Sister you heard him. He does not have anything against you. Please, you can go.”

Rosy left in disappointment.

Bob did not forget everything that pastor and his family did for him. He kept thinking of how best to reward them. He knew that no amount of money or gift will quantify what they did for him .

He invited pastor his family and Nnenna to his house. From there he took them to two houses and sought for their opinion on which of the house to buy.

Pastor liked the first one because it was a residential building. Nnenna preferred the second one for business. Afterwards, Bob drove them back to his house.

As they were sitting in his living room Bob brought out two files. He handed over one to Pastor.

“Daddy this the document for the first building we visited; it is for you. Thank you for everything you and mummy have been doing for me. Starting from my deliverance to my parents burial. You stood by me and didn’t allow me to be lonely. You didn’t mind that I was smelling, you took me to your house. You were bathing me and mummy was feeding me. God will continue to bless you . The blue jeep I showed you is also for you. It is a token of my appreciation. By the grace of God, I will do more,” He promised.

Pastor and his wife were dumbfounded . Later he found his voice. “Bob you have surprised me. God will surprise you. What you said that I did for you was not up to one quarter of what I have done for some people. They didn’t even say thank you. But from the first day, you have been full of appreciation. The God that has been using you to bless me and the church will continue to bless you. He will always remember you for good. He will bless you with a loving and caring wife in Jesus name.”

“Amen! Daddy I really love the last part of the prayer,” Bob told him.

They all busted out laughing

He took the last file to Nnenna.

“My beautiful sister. Thank you for all the love, care and support. I see your coming to our house as the finger of God. If not for your coming, I would have died. Your words of encouragement kept me going . The day you left our house was a very sad day in my life I wept all through and refused to be comforted. Not until you called on phone to assure me that distance is not a barrier. Do you remember that I promised to buy a house and a car for you. You thought that I was joking but I was not . I want to fulfill that promise today. The second house we visited is yours. It’s for your cosmetics industry.

“Nnenna shouted in joy and felled down . Pastor’s wife lifted her.

“The red jeep is yours. It’s not my choice but I knew you always wanted a red jeep . That is why I bought it for you. I will buy my choice car for you later. But most importantly, from the day you were in our house, something has been in my mind but the fear of my condition didn’t allow me to say it. My mother always wished that you were her daughter. I assured her that I will make you her daughter. I was so afraid when you left our house. But the fact that you were always calling me on phone helped in assuring me that there is hope. The day you called to inform me about Stanley was a black day for me. Thank God that the relationship never worked out. After I gave my life to Christ, the way I see things changed . I learnt that I need to ask God for direction concerning my marriage. That was why I was not in hurry to tell you anything. But after prayers, I have been assured that God is with us in this journey. Please marry me and make me the happiest man on earth.”

Tears Of joy flowed from Nnenna’s eyes.
“Yes, I will marry you,” she told him.

Pastor and his wife clapped.

Nnenna excused herself and ran home to break the news to Chinasa.

Immediately she entered the room , she shouted.

“Congratulations is in order . Nnenna is getting married.”

Chinasa shouted in excitement.

“Wow! Please who is the lucky guy?”

“Who else but my own brother, Bob”
The two of them shouted in joy.

“Chinasa started singing
It pays to serve Jesus, I speak from my heart…..

“Let me ask you. Between Stanley and Bob, who do you prefer?”

“My sister, I will choose Bob over and over again”

“Have you seen that our God is a wise God. It really pays to wait on him. When you missed Stanley, I thought all hope was gone. But our God has a way of keeping the best till the last minute. Let the wedding preparations start,” Chinasa declared.
