I met Chinedu and greeted him with smiles. It was obvious that he was surprised at the way I greeted him. He had to express it verbally.

“Iyk I am surprised that you are smiling at me. Is it that you have decided to forgive me for using spiritual means to collect your customers or you have realized that such never happened?”

I was mopping at him without uttering a word.

“Why are you silent? Are you shocked that I am aware of all the things you said about me? Nelly told me everything you were saying.”

“Did he say Nelly told him? I was confused. I thought that Nelly was my friend. So he was a two edged sword,” I thought to myself.

I knew that if I follow Nedu the way he was going, we are sure to have fracas. I had to apply wisdom and sue for peace.

“Nedu, I am sorry for whatever you heard that I said against you. Please forgive me.”

“Which of it are you apologizing for? You told everyone that cared to listen to you that my father was a native doctor. You also told them that I planted charms in the workshop that diverts your customers to me. You even detained me in police custody and cooked up a false story to back up your action. If not that Nelly; whom you presented as your witness denied you publicly, everyone would have believed your story.”

“I am deeply sorry for all that you have mentioned and the ones you did not remember to say. I was infuriated by how you were diverting my customers to yourself. Apart from you, no other mechanic was bold enough to attend to any of my customers. However whenever any leaves me, you happily welcomes them with open arms. There is no body that will be happy in such situation.”

“Why will your customers not leave you? I believe in the law of sowing and reaping. When you sow deceit, inconsistency and lies in your relationships, you will surely reap heartbreak. So you thought that the customers don’t have choice? When you were busy playing pranks on them, you will collect money for a job but you will not do the job, was it Nedu that sent you?”

“But you never advised me. Instead you were happy because my misfortune was favouring you. I’m surprised that you could easily forget all the favours I did for you”

The statement I made was like I poured fuel in a burning fire. Nedu exploded in anger.

“Iyk if you dare to repeat what you just said I will disfigure your face. If you mistakenly breathe a word of what you said again, they will move you from here to mortuary.”

I stood in shock. I was wondering what i said that could warrant such level of anger and threat from Nedu. Meanwhile, he continued with his ranting. But now he was now making sense to me. I never knew that some things I did against him and thought that it was a secret, were known to him.

“How dare you remind me of things that I have been trying so hard to forget? You sold me into slavery in the name of helping to secure a place to learn mechanic work. You negotiated with the man and he charged me twice of the normal charges. The fact that my father had to sell his land in other to raise that money never bothered you. Let me ask you: how much was your share in that deal?”

I could neither utter any word nor look at Nedu’s face. I was obviously facing one of the most embarrassing moments of my life.

“Mr. Good Samaritan, Even after discovering what you did, I decided to let go. At the expiration of my training, I needed money to buy tools and you promised to lend me money. You took me to a place to buys tools for the work. But you have already strike deals with them. When I was trying to beg them to reduce the amount, you convinced me that the price for the tools was okay. They gave me the tools and you paid them. I repaid the loan with interest. Can you imagine how I felt the day I discovered that you connived with the tool seller to charge me a triple of the normal amount for the tools. Are you shocked? I am not done yet. You also helped me to secure workshop. Little did I know that I was paying both my rent and yours. That was why you never allowed me to follow you to see the landlord. Thank God for Nelly, who revealed the secret. As soon as I insisted that I want to see the landlord, you told me that the rent has been reduced. Now tell me why nemesis will not catch up with you?

“Nedu, please don’t lay curse on me. I have really suffered, don’t add more to it. I am still begging God to deliver me from the consequence of the things I dabbled into. ” Tears were flowing uncontrollably from my eyes.

Nedu was obviously shocked by the sight he was witnessing. He had never seen me in such a sober mood. His next action took me by surprise.

“Em —Iyk please I am sorry. It is obvious I have taken this too far. I can never lay curse on you. I was just angry and I spoke in anger. But now, it is all over. I apologize for trying to get back at you. Such will never happen again.”

Nedu please I want you to forgive me from the debt of your heart. I never knew that you were aware of all the evil I committed against you. I must confess that you are a good person.”

“It’s okay brother. Everything is in the past now. I must confess that you are now are changed person. The person standing before me is not the Iyk I used to know. Please keep it up and God will bless you.”

I barely allowed Nedu to finish the statement before I rushed to give him a hug in appreciation. I felt like a heavy load was taken away from me.

After that, I took another positive decisions that opened doors of blessings for me.
