Judy’s encounters during counselling sections.

Question 1

I am not able to meet up with financial obligation in church. People are insulting me.

Evang. Judy’s Response:

Something good can come out of every situation. Penninah’s insult made Hannah not to be comfortable with childlessness. Ishmael’s mockery reminded Sarah that Isaac ought to be the only heir to Abraham. There are some people that have anointed themselves with the oil of looking down on the poor. Even when they claim that they have received Christ, it does not stop them from discriminating against the poor. Only the blessings of God can shut them up. Evangelist Success Igbo wrote a book titled “Result Terminates Insult”

You can turn an insult to a prayer point. Hannah turned Penninah’s insult to a prayer point and it produced her Samuel. Ill treatments meted out to people are targeted to humiliate them. But, it could turn one to a giant, in faith.

Instead of getting angry, fight it out in prayer. The people mocking you are not the source of your problem. Your challenge is lack. If you conquer lack, the insult will go.
Let us pray.

Question 2

I was framed up in my place of work by my enemies and I am about to be punished. I have been praying but God is silent.

Evang. Judy’s Response:

Do you know that God was fully present when Daniel was brought before the king just because he prayed. God was watching when Daniel was led to the lion’s den. He continued watching until Daniel was pushed into the lion’s den. Has it ever occurred to you that prayer-holic Daniel would not keep his mouth shut in the face of death? He must have prayed but God was silent.

But the end justified the means. A declaration was made that the God of Daniel was to be worshipped and feared in all parts of the kingdom.

In the same vein, God was watching while Joseph was sold into slavery. He was accused and thrown into prison for an offence he did not commit but God did not defend him. God allowed Joseph go through that way uninterrupted because that was the way to his throne.

You don’t know the road that leads to your throne, only God knows. If you are in his will, yet he allows this happen, don’t panic. Continue in prayer; there can never be an excess of it. Whichever way it goes, you must emerge victorious.
Let us pray.

Question 3

My wife gave birth through C- Section. I don’t have money to pay. I don’t know why God should allow this to happen. I fasted and prayed against delivery through C.S. My wife also took all the necessary precautions.

Evang. Judy’s Response:

Brother, it is not of him that willeth nor to him that runneth. It is God that showeth mercy. At this point, you are depending on the mercy of God. You will surely obtain that mercy, but don’t forget to extend same mercy to other people when it is in your power to do it.

A particular couple gave birth in hospital through cesarean section (CS) and there was no money to pay the bill. God came down in a miraculous way and the hospital bill was settled. He did not even allow them to beg people for help, rather he did it in his own way.

After that, God blessed that couple financially. They never forgot that hospital experience. Whenever they come in contact with a woman that gives birth, they are attracted to that person. If there is no money for the payment of the hospital bill, they will assist as much as they can in paying the bill.

By the grace of God, you will surely pay the hospital bill today and your wife and baby will be discharged from the hospital. You tomorrow is very bright; don’t forget how God showed you mercy. He may have allowed this because of the assignment he has for you in future. Do not fail him.

After now, I will accompany you to the hospital. This situation will surely end in praise.
Let us pray.

Question 4

Our landlord forcefully ejected us from his house because we could not pay house rent. The worst was that rain was falling when he did that. Our properties were drenched.

Evang. Judy’s Response:

If you are faithful child of God, every temptation he allows to come your way is for your promotion. That is why we need to be careful of the things we do or say in trying times.

Every tenant is a potential landlord. Now, you have experienced how it feels to be ejected from a house. By the time God makes you a landlord, you will be cautious of how you handle your tenants. Most landlords don’t believe that their tenants lack money. When there is default in payment, they conclude that the tenant is playing pranks.

All the same, something good can come out of your present situation. Maltreatment from landlords have made people become house owners. What they pass through in the hands of their landlords create the desire to own a house.

Another is that God may have allowed this for your own good. Some children of God don’t have time to listen to him. God may be signaling them that their period of stay in a particular place is over but they will not understand. God may be using this to position you for his blessing. He may have even allowed this to evade evil from befalling you. My advice is that you should not mourn over this situation.

Create time to worship God even in this situation. Then, you will understand why he is called the God of signs and wonders.
Let us pray.

Question 5

My mother-in-law is making life miserable for me. I don’t know why God allowed my way and that of that woman to cross.

Evang. Judy’s Response:

For every family that God allowed any of his son or daughter to marry into, there is a purpose. That is if it is God that led you into the marriage. Most times we make choice without carrying God along. If it backfires, we will start blaming God.

All the same, it is obvious that your mother in-law has not accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and savior. She is your assignment. God expects you to bring her to the knowledge of the truth. Now, you are the scripture that she is reading; this means that you are to be of the best of behaviour even in the face provocation. This is not an easy task; it is easier said than done. But it is your cross. So you have to carry it.

Prayer is an essential tool here. Pray for her salvation. By the grace of God, you will succeed and win her over to your side. Then you will be thankful to God for being part of that family.
Let us pray.

Question 6
My husband is jobless. I am the one shouldering the family needs. I am thinking of quitting the marriage. Can any good come out of this situation?

Response
If God can open our eyes to see the end from the beginning, we will be thanking God for certain things we complain of. That husband of yours that is jobless today could be a millionaire in the making. Most times, God allows this kind of situation so that some women will carve a niche in the heart of their husband but they mismanage it.

However, wise women use such time to prove their love and loyalty to their husband. By the time the blessing of God in the lives of their husband start unfolding, they will be held in high esteem.

May God help you not to scatter your home. The wisdom that comes from God is what you need at this time. Pray for him, encourage him to start doing something no matter how small. God will see you through.
Let us pray.

Question 7

A man that I was engaged to be married to disappointed me. People are laughing at me.

Evang. Judy’s Response:

There is a saying that “a broken engagement is better than a failed marriage” If you are a child of God and your engagement was called off, don’t take it for granted. Go to God in prayers and seek clarification. Especially if God had revealed to you that the person is your husband/wife. God may have allowed that to happen for a purpose. Through that you may get the key that will give you a happy marriage. If that young man/young lady is your God ordained life partner, that marriage must take place.

Even if that person is not meant for you, that is not the end of life. Don’t mind anyone laughing at you. After all one of the things that the mouth is meant for is to laugh. But the truth is that he that laughs last laughs the best. The mockery is for your own good. By the time you enter into another relationship, it could help you to be more careful and prayerful too. Remember that prayer is the key.

Shall we pray?

Question 8

I was sacked from my job. I have been faithful in paying my tithe and offering.

Evang. Judy’s Response:

The bible said in Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose”

If you are truly an obedient and faithful child of God, yet he allows that job to go, he has better plans for you. This job you are crying for, is it really paying your bills? Is it allowing you to fulfill the plans of God for your life?

Some children of God labour so much. They work like elephant and eat like ant. This is not the will of God for his children. If God allows one door to close, he opens another door. The most important thing is that you should remain in his will. Don’t allow this to shake your faith in God.

Another is that no matter how good you think the job is, God can give you a better one
Let us pray.

Question 9

I lost my child 6 months old baby. I don’t know why God should allow that child to die. I am heart broken.

Evang. Judy’s Response:
One of our fathers in the Lord; Daddy Adeboye told this story. They brought a dead child to him; the purpose was for him to pray so that God will bring back the child to life. As he was praying, the dead child became warm meaning the child was coming back to life. Suddenly God spoke to him and said “This child is with me now. If I should allow this child to come back to life you will assure me that the child must make heaven at last”

The man of God said that he could not give that assurance because it is only God that could guarantee ones salvation. Because of that, the child’s body became cold.

The bitter truth is that it is better for a baby to die and make heaven than that same baby to live till old age and go to hell fire.

Another is that God uses certain things that happen to us to prepare us for an assignment ahead.

A particular woman lost two of her sons at same period. Their burial was conducted the same day. People thought that her end has come. But because she was a child of God, she pulled through. Afterwards another woman lost one of her sons and was trying to kill herself. As people were comforting her, they used the first woman as a case study. In fact, the first woman was sent to go and comfort her.

If God allow that child to go there is a cause. Don’t mourn like a person without hope. May our merciful God comfort you. It is well.

Let us pray.

PARTING WORDS

It seemed like a dream, too good to be true,
When God returned Zion’s exiles.
We laughed, we sang
We couldn’t believe our good fortune.
We were the talk of the nations-
“God was wonderful to them!”
God was wonderful to us;
We are happy people.
And now, God, do it again-
Bring rains to our drought-stricken lives.
So those who planted their crops in despair
Will shout hurrays’ at the harvest,
So, those who went off with heavy hearts
Will come home laughing with armloads of blessing.
(Psalm 126:1-6) MSG.
