Gina and Ruby didn’t talk to themselves until they got home. Rubby purposely followed her home because she had lots of questions on her mind. Immediately they  entered the house, Ruby asked.

“Gina, what exactly is the meaning of the drama you acted at that event center?”

Gina refused to answer her . Mercy, who was sleeping when they entered, heard her voice and sat up.

“Gina, I ask again, what was the meaning of the shameless show you put up today?” Ruby asked with a furious countenance.

“Rubby enough of this. If you  repeat what you just said, I will give you a slap on your face. How dare you call me shameless,” Gina replied angrily.

“Oh so it has gotten to the level of fighting me. I am not surprised. After all, what you did today showed that you are not who I thought you were, ” Rubby continued unwaveringly.

“It’s okay please. There is no need to fight” “Mercy pleaded. “What is the issue?”

“Thank you for asking. When we got to the venue of the birthday party. Rose called us out for a game titled ‘My birthday tales’. I know that she purposely did it to disgrace us. But that is not the main issue.  When it got to Gina’s turn, she decided  to imitate what other girls did. She started by saying ‘

‘Hello! My name is Gina but my friends call me  Gina  the happening babe’.”

“What did you just say? Are you joking?”  Mercy asked in shock. 

“I wish that I am joking but sadly, I am not. It was like the ground should open, so that I will enter.  She refused to talk about what happened on her last birthday, instead she told them that she will host a birthday party next month.”

“Where will she get the money?” Mercy asked.

“I don’t know. I tried to touch her but she did  not mind me. She went ahead to vomit all the things she cooked inside her stomach. My people say that a mad man does not feel ashamed, it is his relatives that feel shame”. 

 

“Who are you calling a mad man?” Gina jumped from the chair she was sitting on to go and fight Rubby. Mercy had to hold her and reprimanded her.

“Gina what is wrong with you? Some of the attitudes you are displaying these days do not benefit a child of God. Imagine the kind of thing you did. Instead of feeling ashamed, you want to fight.”

 

“Why would she say what happened there? She knows that I am hurt; She is not supposed to be saying those things again,” Gina said in anger. 

 

“Why would she not say it? If you know that you will feel ashamed when it is being talked about, you shouldn’t have done it. Why  were you ashamed to talk about your last birthday? I remember that we celebrated your birthday in  our own little way. I woke you up with a birthday song and later prayed for you. I also cooked delicious rice for you. That is your birthday tale. Why didn’t you tell me? You felt that your story was not good to be told because your mind is telling you that somebody somewhere is living a perfect life. But it is not true. The mistake you made was that you  left your story and attempted to tell that of another person. Don’t be ashamed of your story. Tell it the way it is.”

“I won’t do that. I will  not make anyone feel that I am poor. Never!” Gina said firmly.

“It’s okay, Now that you have succeeded in making everybody feel that you are rich, what is your plan concerning the  birthday party?”

“I will surprise all of you. Just watch and see.” Gina vowed.

“Gina I am sorry but I have to say this. You are displaying unnecessary ego.  You are trying so hard to impress people that do not matter in your life. As they laughed at me and called me a village girl, did it take anything away from me?” Ruby asked her.

 

“Rubby, don’t compare yourself to me. We are not in the same level. Don’t forget that you were not invited to that party. In Fact, you are not qualified to step your feet into that place. It was your greediness for food that took you to that place. Even if they tell you to use your tongue and lick the ground, you have no right to resist. As for me, I have a dignity to protect Let me burst your brain. As far as my next birthday is concerned, I will do everything I said there and even more. I don’t care what it takes.”

“Gina, a child of God does not talk the way you are talking.  How do you plan to get the money?” Mercy asked, feeling so concerned.

“How I will get the money is not your business?” Gina snapped.

 

“Don’t mind her  if she does not retrace her steps the shame she felt when they lifted her empty purse will be nothing compared to the shame coming,” Rubby told her.

“I will shock all of you” Gina vowed.
