Emeka has lived in a particular house for a period of 10 years. He had been in a cordial relationship with his landlord . He does everything he was supposed to do and pays his rent as at when due.
In year 2020, he made a costly mistake of investing in hand sanitizer with a huge Capital . The business crashed and all the money went down the drain.
Things later turned around for the worst that he couldn’t pay his house rent. He went to the landlord to beg him to give him a little time to sort out how to relocate to his village but the landlord rejected his plead. He was given 7 days to vacate the building or his properties would be thrown out.
Emeka quickly ran to his church leaders for assistance. They wanted to assist him get another accommodation but he insisted on relocating to the village.
They have no choice than to assist him by getting trucks that conveyed his loads to his village. Emeka’s family have a vast land in the village so he started farming. Later, he was able to secure an interest free loan from the government. It boosted his farming capacity and he had many employees.
Some years later, landlord’s son was posted to Emeka’s village for NYSC. When he saw Emeka, he ran to greet him. After some inquiries, Emeka found out that the place that NYSC posted him rejected him. Emeka quickly took him in and made him an accountant in his farm. He fed him and paid him handsomely for the one year period.
When the landlord heard what Emeka did for his son, he couldn’t believe it. He regretted his action towards Emeka and wished that he treaded more softly.
The truth is that no one knows tomorrow. When you pass through a door, close it gently because you might need to pass through it again.
