The next day was Sunday. While Mercy was getting ready to attend church for the Sunday worship, Gina was sleeping comfortably. Mercy thought  that she overslept because  of tiredness. She decided to wake her up.

“Sis what is going on. It’s almost time for the  church service but you are still sleeping,”

“Mercy, I am sick. I don’t think that I can attend church today,” Gina told her.

“I’m so sorry. Should I go and buy drugs for you?”

“No, don’t worry, I can manage to take care of myself. I don’t want you to be late in church,”

“What of food?” Mercy asked.

“No, I can’t eat now.  I thought you told me that we are observing prayer and fasting because of the dream you had yesterday?”

“Wow! That’s nice. I planned to do it alone because you didn’t give me a favourable answer yesterday. Thank God you finally decided to join in the prayer. God will answer us in Jesus name,” Mercy prayed.

“Amen!” Gina responded, laughing in her heart.

Meanwhile, Gina was just waiting for Mercy to leave the house so that she could go and meet the man that Lucia introduced to her.

Gina got to the man’s residence around 9am. She was surprised that the man was a middle aged man. She thought that he was an old man. After the exchange of pleasantries,  he took her to his room and served her a drink.

The man noticed that a car drove into the compound, he peeped through the window and discovered that it was  his wife.

“Get up, get my wife is back,” he said in agitation.

“Should I get up?” Gina asked in confusion.

“What kind of human being is this? I told you that my wife is back and you are asking me nonsense questions. ” He held Gina’s hand, pushed her inside his wardrobe and locked her inside.

After about 30 minutes, he brought her out.

“Oga why did you lock me inside the wardrobe when you know that there is no air there. Did you want me to die? When I was about to suffocate, I attempted to open the wardrobe but it was locked,” Gina snapped angrily.

“You wanted to do what? You are lucky. If you had succeeded in opening that wardrobe, I would have declared you a thief and beat you to stupor. Bad luck of a girl. Since  I started bringing girls to my house, my wife has never caught me. Just today that you came, they canceled her flight. You have just 1 minute to leave this place. I managed to convince my wife to help me buy something in the supermarket,” the shouted in anger.

” Why are you blaming me? What is  my fault in this issue?” Gina asked.

“Go and ask your poor wretched parents that stupid question. Get out of my house,” he shouted at Gina.

” Oga, I  am not going anywhere until you give me money,” Gina protested.

“It’s alright, just wait for me. I will teach you  a bitter lesson,” the  man protested.

 Gina  picked her bag and ran away.

On her way home, Gina decided to go to Lucia’s house and tell her what transpired between her and the man.

Immediately Lucia saw Gina, she became so angry.

“Gina, what is the meaning of the nonsense that  I was hearing?” Lucia charged angrily at her.

“I don’t understand what did you hear?”

 Gina asked in confusion.

“If you know that you are not tired of praying? Why did you ask me to connect you for hook up business. Why did you use prayer to spoil things for my client? That man is one of my biggest clients,” Lucia said in anger.

“I didn’t pray there,” Gina said, trying to defend herself.

“It is either you prayed or someone was praying for you. The man told me that something spoiled and it was caused by prayer,” Lucia continued unwaveringly.

” Wait! What kind of thing is spoiled? Did you connect me to a ritualist?” Gina asked in fear.

“Get out of my house. Any day that you come close to me again. I will roast you alive” She threatened and pushed Gina out of her house.

“Which prayer are they talking about? Could it be the one that  Mercy was praying? Could it be possible that Mercy’s dream was real?” Gina reasoned within herself as she was going home.

Gina was not in class when her coursemates. Submitted an assignment given to them by one of their lecturers. She begged the course rep to collect her’s but he refused. Gina decided to go to the lecturer’s office to submit  the assignment. 

When she entered the lecturer’s office, she did not see anyone but the lecturer’s  phone was on the table. 

“If I sell this phone, I will make part of the money for the  birthday celebration,” she thought.

She quickly  picked the phone and left the office.

The lecturer was inside the toilet attached to  his  office. When he came out, he discovered that his phone was gone.

Luckily, surveillance cameras were in his office. He watched the footage and saw how the phone was taken.
