Painful Wish (Episode 29)
Chinasa was sad because of Nnenna’s condition. She knew that Nnenna needed help but she couldn’t figure out how to help her. An idea suddenly popped up.
“Pastor can help Nnenna,” she told herself.
Immediately after church service, she rushed to pastor’s office. Just a look at her face made Pastor to realize that all was not well.
“Sister Chinasa, how are you doing?”
“Daddy, I am fine sir.”
“But your face is saying otherwise. What exactly is going on?”
“Daddy it’s about my friend Nnenna. I don’t know exactly what is wrong with her. The greatest challenge is that she is afraid to talk because of an oath she took in the past.”
“Hmmm! It’s okay. Don’t worry yourself, I will pray about it. God will show me how to handle whatever the challenge is. You can go,” Pastor assured her.
Pastor went to God in prayer and everything that happened was revealed to him. He later invited Chinasa and Nnenna for a talk.
“Nasa do you know why pastor invited us to his office,” Nnenna asked.
“Yes, I told him that you are having some challenge. The worst is that you are afraid to talk.”
” But Nasa, you shouldn’t have told him.” Nnenna snapped angrily.
” I am sorry. But what is your reason for not wanting me to tell him?” Chinasa asked.
“I don’t want trouble. I don’t want to start seeking for a solution that I may never get. It’s better that I am alive than to seek for a solution that will take my head,” Nnenna answered.
“Babe, you are making me afraid. What exactly is this thing that cannot be talked about?” Chinasa asked in fear.
“Just be playing. So you expect me to answer that question? See, I am not ready to talk about this. I am not talking to you, or to Pastor or even anybody. Just let me be,” Nnenna shouted in anger.
“No problem. But can we at least honour pastor’s invitation?” Chinasa pleaded.
“Why not? We will see him. It’s just that I am not going to say anything there.” Nnenna reiterate.
“That is not a problem,” Chinasa assured her.
After the weekly bible study on Wednesday, Chinasa took Nnenna to Pastor’s office .
“Sister Nnenna, I want you to know that power of God is greater than any other power on earth. Do you believe it.” Pastor asked.
“I believe sir,” Nnenna responded just to please the pastor.
“The devil has power, but the power of God is the greatest. There is a popular saying that when power jam power, the lesser power must bow. A particular power had been parading itself in your life, making you to live in constant fear just because you don’t know what the power of God can do. Today, I terminate the operation of that power in your life in Jesus name!”
“Amen!”Chinasa shouted but Nnenna was just watching them.
“Some time ago” pastor continued. “Your mother was sick. A huge sum of money was needed. Someone connected your family to another family for you to work for them. Not knowing that the head of the family was a ritualist.”
Tears started flowing uncontrollably from Nnenna’s eyes.
“Please don’t cry. I am telling you this story just to let you know that God knows your secret and he is able to deliver you. They told you that if you reveal this secret, you will die. That is the truth. An ordinary human being that does not have the power of God cannot confront the power of darkness. But the power of God is greater and mightier than any other power. If you totally surrender your life to Christ, you can resist any power and the will be rendered powerless in the name of Jesus.”
“Amen” Chinasa and Nnenna chorused.
“Back to the stories, you were forced to take an oath. Later, the man manipulated his son to rape you which resulted to a pregnancy. That pregnancy was actually not a real pregnancy. The man forced you to abort the pregnancy and your womb was damaged in the process.”
“What!” Chinasa shouted. Goose bumps filled her body.
“That is your story. It’s actually the damage to your womb that is making you afraid to marry any man.”
On hearing that, Nnenna launched into wailing. It took Pastor and Chinasa a long while before they could calm her down.
Pastor later invited his wife and they launched into a powerful deliverance section for Nnenna.
Afterwards pastor congratulated her and declared her free from the operations of the power of darkness. He also assured her that God has restored her womb. Though, Nnenna did not believe him.
On getting home, Chinasa’s heart was filled with joy. She started a discussion with Nnenna concerning the marriage proposal.
“Babe the coast is now clear. So, there is no need keeping Mr. Right waiting. When are you bringing home the ring?”
“Nasa, this thing is not as easy as you think. Before I move an inch with any man as far as the issue of marriage is concerned, I must tell him about my past.”
“What is wrong with you? Why do you like falling my hand,” Chinasa rebuked her.
“I don’t understand?”
“My dear, wisdom is profitable to direct. Your story is not sweet at all. No man will want to hear such story concerning his bride. It belongs to the past. Why not leave it there and embrace your bright future with Stanley,” Chinasa advised.
“Never! Any man that I want to spend the rest of my life with should know everything about me. If he is not comfortable with any aspect of my life, he is free to leave,” Nnenna said firmly.
“Hmm! don’t say that I did not warn you. If Stanley hear about this, you may lose him.”
“If Stanley is destined to be my husband, nothing will stop it. But if he is not the one. I shouldn’t force it.”
“I have heard you. Just don’t run to me because I don’t have spare handkerchief to dry tears,” Chinasa warned.
