“Sister, I am not ready to tell her anything. Please don’t interfere in my relationship. I have never interfered in yours,” Eric told her sister with a furious countenance.

“I don’t care. I am your elder sister and I know what is good for you. You cannot leave Itohan in the dark, you must tell her everything she needs to know.”

“It’s okay, since you have decided to support Itohan and abandon the only brother that you have. We shall see how it will end.”

“Whatever you are saying is your cup of eat without sugar. I am giving you 24 hours to talk to her. If you did not do it. I will do it for you,” She threatened.

“Sister, are you threatening me. I will tell you that I am no longer the small boy of yesterday. If you tell my wife anything without my permission, you will regret it, ” Eric vowed.

“Eric, are you insulting me?”She asked but Eric left her and walked away.

“You are even walking out on me. No problem. We shall know, if you are my elder or I am your elder sister.”

Eric hurriedly wore his clothes and left the house. He was in a confused state and does not know what to do. He loves his elder sister and would not want to disobey her because she been there for him and condoled all his excesses. But what she was asking him to do was not easy.

He decided to meet Osadolor to discuss the issue with him. When he was ushered into Osadolor’s office, he sat quitely.

“The Lion, why are sitting quitely like someone that was caught where he was committing crime?” Osadolor teased him.

Eric kept mute.
“O boy, what is wrong with you? Are you not the one I am talking to?”Eric asked.

“I am in a fix. I don’t know what to do,” Eric said with sighs.

“What exactly is the matter?” Osadolor asked with a great concern.

“O boy, you understand everything. You know how my journey with Itohan has been going. Can you believe that my sister is asking me to tell Itohan everything concerning me. She is insisting that Itohan has the right to know. Is it fair? Is she supposed to interfare in my relationship?”

Osadolor was looking at him without talking.

“It’s like you are not understanding me. She said I should tell Itohan everything that I have been hiding. The worst is that she threatened to do the talking for me, if I decide not to. Is it fair? Why would she insult me in that manner?”

Osadolor took a deep breath and breathed out again. His challenge was that Eric might not be happy with what he wanted to say. However he decided to say it, not minding the consequence.

“Your sister is right. I supported some of the things you did just to make you happy. But right now, I wish I didn’t do so. Itohan is a nice girl. The least that you can do for her is to be truthful to her. Do it, if you truly love her.”

“Osadolor, I hope you are not trying to insult me. Why are you spouting nonsense. Why would you say ‘if I truely love her’. Why would you make that comment? The sacrifices I paid just to make Itohan marry me, can you do it?”

“Calm down. We want you to do things in the right way. Do things that will make her happy. You are the one living with her. If she is happy, then leave things the way it is. But if she is not happy, then make things right. Though it will be hard for you to win her trust.”

“So you know that it will be hard for her to trust me again yet you are pushing me to talk to her. I don’t blame you. If I have not left my house, you will not have the chance to insult me,” Eric said in anger.

He rose to leave. Osadolor begged him to stay but he ignored and stormed out of the office.

Itohan was eavesdropping when Eric and her sister was discussing. Everything she heard made goose pimples to appear on her body.

After Eric wore his clothes and stormed out of the house, Itohan launched into wailing. As she was weeping, her sister in-law came in. When she discovered that Itohan was crying, she started hailing her in order to comfort her.

“The beautiful one. The bride of a king, the queen of Eric’s kingdom, the beautiful bride of a handsome prince. What is the matter?”

“Aunty, please leave me alone let me mourn my predicament,”Itohan lamented.

“God forbid it. Mourning is not your portion. Celebration will meet celebration in your home. Now talk to me. Why are you crying?”

“I want to know what Eric is hiding from me. If you can tell me, I will stop crying,”Itohan told her.

Ese was shocked to her bone marrow. She was not prepared for what she heard.

“What are you talking about?” She quickly asked.

“Aunty you know what I’m talking about. I heard what you were discussing with my husband,” Itohan told her.

Ese became confused. She doesn’t want people to say that she scattered her brother’s relationship. As she was still contemplating on what to do, the door opened and Eric came in. She beckoned on Eric to have his sit. Afterwards, he signalled him to talk. But he was reluctant. She had to start the conversation.

“I.T, there is no human being that is perfect. We all have our flaws and are working towards perfection. I could remember the day that Eric my brother called me on phone to tell me that he has seen the lady he wants to marry. He was so excited. The way he talked about you, made me to fall in love with you, even before I saw you. When we finally met, I was not disappointed because I discovered that you are an angel. I may not know everything concerning your relationship with Eric, but I know that he loves you. That love made him so desperate to have you. There are things that he didn’t do right but today, he is ready to make it right. Please listen to him and forgive him in any way he might have erred. I will take my leave now.”

Itohan and Eric sat facing each other. Eric kept swallowing hard because he doesnt know how to start his confession.

“What is so hard to say? Do you have another wife?”Itohan asked in agitation.

“No. It is true that I dated lots of women but I didn’t marry anyone,” Eric stammered.

“When did you date them? Was it before you met me?”

“Hmm! This is actually not what I wanted to talk about. Please let’s skip this area,” Eric pleaded.

“Ha! Itohan you are in trouble. You have fallen inside hot okro soup” she cried.

“Please stop crying. May be we should leave this for another day,” Eric pleaded.

“Don’t worry just talk to me.I will understand,” Itohan promised.

“It’s okay. First hmmm! Please forgive me. Whatever I did was not intended to hurt you. I never knew that it would turn this way. The office and duplex I told you that it belongs to me was for my friend Osadolor?”

“What did you just say?” Itohan asked in shock.

“It’s not for me. This building belongs to my sister. She gave me the 2 bedroom flat to live in. Everything inside here was bought by her.”

Itohan could not believe what she was hearing. Heat suddenly filled her body.

“Hei! I am feeling heat. Please switch on the air conditioner,” she cried out.

“It’s already on. Please forgive me,” Eric pleaded.

“But you have cars? ” Itohan asked.

“All the cars belong to my sister. Though she bought one in my name but I sold it,”Eric explained.

“Please tell me that it is not real. This joke is too expensive. Have you forgotten that I am pregnant?”

” I am sorry. I never wanted to do this but my sister insisted that I must do it.”

“You are confusing me. If all you are saying is real, how were you getting all the money you were spending on people. We knew you as a philanthropist”

“I was managing a branch of my sister’s business. That was the money that I was squandering. Because of my reckless life style, the business was shut down. I could not account for 15 containers of good that my sister imported. I sold all the goods and wasted the money. When my sister requested that I should send the money that was send to my bank account, I couldn’t account for it. She sacked me and told me to use the money to start a business for myself. ”

“Was it the money that you used to buy car for me?”

“I never bought a car for you. The car that I brought to you belongs to Osadolor. He just bought the car and I begged him to allow me use it just for a day. The money I was giving you was realized from my car that I sold. That was the only thing left for me. The car that we are using now also belongs to her. I begged her that I needed a car to be carrying you around.”

“What! even the car I thought you bought for me, was a scam?” Itohan shouted and lose consciousness.
